Jerry and DeAnna Olson Prayer Update

Santa Cruz, Bolivia

May 2008

That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection,

and the fellowship of His sufferings,

being conformed to His death, (NKJV)

Praise and Prayer Requests

1. Local Referendum

Once again Santa Cruz is in the middle of a national conflict. Sunday, no public meetings of any kind were permitted (no church services either) as the state of Santa Cruz held a referendum, voting to create greater autonomy from LaPaz and the national government. Needless to say, the sitting president and his cabinet are not pleased with the direction Santa Cruz is taking. Please pray for peace throughout Bolivia.

2. Evangelistic Campaigns

During the month of April two of our churches participated in evangelistic campaigns with a visiting team from the U.S. Both churches took the team into communities where they have started new churches. Over 60 adults and children accepted the Lord. Pray for both churches as they follow-up with these new believers.

3. China and the Olympics

In July we have 4 youth heading to China with YWAM and 20 other young people. They have been working hard to raise the needed funds and developing a program of street evangelism to use during the Olympics. Pray for Iver Lara, Leicy Cruz, Ariel Choque and his brother Guillermo Choque from our LaGuardia church as they prepare themselves both spiritually and emotionally  for the trip. This will be the first time one of our Bolivian churches has sent young missionaries "overseas."

Love in Christ,

Jerry and DeAnna Olson
